In 1999, Catherine became involved with the new media business by devoting herself to the development of Internet and mobile value-added services. She has since served as director of communications at renren.com (a Greater China Internet social play), and as chief operating officer at I-Content Technology. In 2003, Catherine joined Universal Music’s Asia Pacific office as regional general manager of digital operations, responsible for the establishment of wireless music services for 10 territories across Asia. She was promoted to general manager of Universal Music’s China division in 2006.

At Baidu, Catherine has led the push into fully-licensed music for Baidu’s popular music platforms, forging landmark partnerships with local, regional, and international labels and overseeing the development and launch of Baidu’s innovative social music platform, ting!.
