transmitLIVE 2011 artist:
// Jets Overhead

Since forming in 2003, Jets Overhead have mesmerized crowds at home and abroad with their atmospheric approach to harmony and melody. The band’s critical acclaim eventually led to a JUNO nomination in 2007 for New Group Of The Year.  The band also got attention in 2006 by developing a voluntary download and purchase model off jetsoverhead.com, over a year before Radiohead eventually popularized the model with their release of In Rainbows. The band has continued its evolution through the music industry’s increasingly digital landscape by releasing elements of NO NATIONS online under a new Creative Commons license.

Jets Overhead have toured in Canada, the US, Germany, Ireland, and the UK, including shows with Broken Social Scene, The Dears, The Stills, The Temper Trap, Tegan and Sara, Sam Roberts, Our Lady Peace, The Dandy Warhols, Powderfinger, 54*40, and The Frames. They have performed at Coachella, Bonnaroo, Sasquatch, SXSW, CMW, and NXNE.

NO NATIONS is the sophomore album from Victoria five-piece Jets Overhead. Now available in Canada on Microgroove/Warner and in the USA on Vapor Records (founded by Elliot Roberts and Neil Young).

NO NATIONS was produced by Neil Osborne (lead singer from Canadian icons 54*40) at a remote location on Hornby Island, BC, capturing the band’s unique atmospherics and intimate dual vocals. It was mixed by Malcolm Burn (Emmylou Harris, Bob Dylan, Daniel Lanois).
