Mutating from Victoria's marquee hipster DJ into the city's flag-bearer for the wild world of bass music, Longshanks heads up sub⎸division, a monthly party dedicated to exploring new exciting realms in dance music. As dance music evolves at an ever increasing rate, Longshanks is renowned for breaking new sounds in an ever-critical scene.
Longshanks' live setup consists of a cutting edge midi-controller (Livid's Ohm64) manipulating Ableton Live with exclusive remixes, edits, live sample pads & his own productions. Fusing the relentless frenetic energy of his sound with vintage future-retro visuals, it's a live experienced to be seen & heard. Psychedelia, off-kilter rhythms, r&b sex appeal & thrumming bass all come together when Longshanks unfurls his synthetic future funk.
He's played alongside Flying Lotus, Excision, Gaslamp Killer, FaltyDL, Datsik, Daedelus & Hrdvsion. With a new recording alias & several releases due in 2011, Longshanks is one to watch over the next year.
