2008 was a whirlwind year for newcomers, Final Flash. Based in Montréal, this emerging quintet, is rapidly making waves with their unique brand of psychedelic folk-rock. Final Flash have quickly caught the attention of fans, local media and programmers, landing shows at Canadian Music Week, Pop Montréal, the Whistler Canadian Music Showcase, part of the Whistler’s Filmmaker Forum, as well as Transmission — an elite international conference for music and technology, held annually in Vancouver. The band’s Fall 2008 performance at the Toronto International Film Festival’s Canadian Music Café — a showcase specifically for music supervisors — was so well received, that they landed an international publishing deal with Los Angeles based North Star Media, who also represent the catalogues of such artists as Rod Stewart, Cher, Mudhoney and many more. Signed to Indica Records, Final Flash are currently in studio recording their debut CD, scheduled for release in early spring 2009, with Jace Lasek (Besnard Lakes) producing. Final Flash will be performing at SXSW in March 2009, adding to the buzz which continues to gain momentum surrounding this exciting young band.
